What do you see as the trends and market forces driving PV technology in the second half of 2011? Powerful, efficient PV power plants generating an increase of solar yield while there will be a decrease for production costs. Furthermore, the development of hybrid network solutions will become more and more important.
How are PV prices expected to develop in the second half? The decline of prices for PV modules will go on, due to the fact that solar energy must be competitive to other forms of energy in order to bring about the energy revolution.
Where do you put your focus this year, in terms of business growth and technology development? In general, the solar industry will focus on growing technologies like autonomous off-grid-systems. In addition, there is still a high potential for developments regarding the efficient storage of solar energy. In terms of business growth, mp-tec is focusing on international markets and is expanding its PV project business. In terms of technology development, mp-tec is working on solutions that will make solar energy even more efficient like our latest product development, the single axis tracker Skytrap plus.
