Where do you put your focus this year, in terms of business growth and technology development?

Business growth: As renewable energy demands increase in many regions of the world, Trojan has implemented an export and distribution strategy focused on sharing its expertise, experience and expanding product portfolio in both developing and developed regions globally. Trojan products are currently distributed in more than 100 countries worldwide and are used in varying applications from residential battery backup in the United States to rural electrification in remote villages in Africa. As a global company, Trojan will continue to focus on expanding internationally, particularly in regions of the world with no access or poor access to the electrical grid. From an application¡¯s standpoint, Trojan will focus on solar home systems, solar street lights, telecom, residential and industrial renewable energy and backup power systems as well as a wide variety of other applications

Technology development: Renewable energy applications operate under challenging conditions such as fluctuating or extreme temperatures, remote locations and the intermittent nature of solar and wind power generation. Trojan¡¯s extensive line of deep-cycle flooded, AGM and gel batteries are specifically engineered to address the conditions that are characteristic of renewable energy applications. Trojan¡¯s deep-cycle batteries are ideal for a wide range of renewable energy applications including solar home systems, solar street lights, telecom and other types of residential and industrial renewable energy and backup power systems.

Quality and innovation are the cornerstones of Trojan¡¯s product development. The company retains two state-of-the-art research and development centers dedicated exclusively to battery technology and innovation. To ensure the quality and superior performance of its batteries, Trojan applies the most rigorous testing procedures in the industry to test for cycle life, capacity, charger algorithms and both physical and mechanical integrity. Trojan¡¯s battery testing procedures adhere to both BCI and IEC test standards.

Trojan¡¯s engineering team uses these test results to optimize future product design and to engineer next-generation products. Trojan¡¯s Premium line of renewable energy products has been developed as a result of this comprehensive research and product testing.

With the adoption of renewable energy solutions growing worldwide, Trojan will continue its commitment to the renewable energy market segment. The company will further invest in research and development to expand its future renewable energy deep-cycle battery offerings.

What is your growth strategy?

As the renewable energy market continues to grow, Trojan Battery Company is committed to the renewable energy marketplace and will continue to invest in the right mix of people, products and services needed to maintain its leadership role in the industry. Trojan is focused on fully understanding the needs of its customers in order to continually improve the performance of its products and provide the best battery technology and products on the market.

Trojan continues to aggressively pursue opportunities throughout the international marketplace by expanding its global partnerships and distribution network. Trojan also will investigate creative ways to export products and technology to both the developed and developing regions of the world.
